GaragePilot is designed with privacy in mind. The app operates with minimal data collection:

• Location Data: Used only locally on your device for geo-location based automation. Location data is never transmitted to external servers.
• MQTT Configuration: Server settings are stored locally on your device for connection purposes.
• App Preferences: Settings and preferences are stored locally on your device.

Data Usage

• Location information is used exclusively for local automation features
• MQTT commands are sent only to your configured MQTT server
• No analytics, tracking, or telemetry data is collected
• No personal information is transmitted to third parties

Data Storage

• All app data is stored locally on your Android device
• No cloud storage or external databases are used
• Data is removed when you uninstall the app

Security

• MQTT communication uses secure authentication when configured
• All sensitive configuration data is stored securely on your device
• The app requires only necessary permissions for functionality

Third-Party Services

GaragePilot may interact with:

• Your MQTT Server: Only basic garage door control commands are transmitted
• Google Play Services: For location services (when enabled)

Permissions

The app requests the following permissions:

• Location: For geo-location based automation (optional)
• Network Access: For MQTT communication with your garage door controller
• Foreground Service: To maintain automation when app is not actively used
